Donald Trump’s primary spokesperson Steven Cheung is one of the key players in the Republican Party’s campaign communications, and he’s worked on the former president’s campaign for the past few election cycles.

Who is Steven Cheung, Donald Trump’s Chinese-born campaign adviser who worked at the UFC in Nevada?

Huyen “Steven” Cheung is a veteran in the field of political communication, who has played significant roles in various campaigns in the country, particularly those associated with conservative figures.

He is best known for his long-standing relationship with Trump, serving in the ex-president’s campaigns in various roles over the years.

Cheung was born to Chinese parents who immigrated to the United States. He was born and raised in Sacramento, California.

He began his career in politics in 2003 as a college student who worked as an intern for then-California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger’s communications and speechwriting office.

He then worked on John McCain’s 2008 presidential campaign as well as those of conservative gubernatorial and senatorial candidates.

In 2013, he transitioned into the field of sports communications, working as a director of communications for public affairs for Ultimate Fighting Championship. His background in sports media helped him develop a bold style of communication, which would serve him well in carrying out Trump’s combative campaign approach.

Cheung returned to politics in 2016 by joining Trump’s campaign team as Director of Rapid Response. After Trump made his way to the White House, Cheung was appointed Special Assistant to the President and Assistant Communications Director.

Apart from working for Trump’s presidential bids, he also served as an advisor of Caitlyn Jenner for California governor in 2021 and Eric Greitens for U.S. Senate in 2022.
