Would you like to take a selfie with your ballot? Be careful, in these states it’s illegal

Go to the polling station, take a quick selfie and pop it on Instagram may land you in hot water in certain states on 5 November.

Next Tuesday is yet to be a significant day for many Americans, as voters of every age cast their vote in what appears to be the most delicately poised election in some considerable time.

Some voters (especially those casting their vote for the first time) may be keen to share the fact that they’ve completed their civic duty by posting a ballot selfie on social media.

However, voters in certain states need to aware that there are 18 US states where taking a photo of your ballot and posting it on social media is prohibited.
