Verizon outage map: Where is service down?

Verizon customers are reporting issues connecting to the cellular network this morning. The outage seems to be affecting customers across the country. A look at the website Down Detector, which allows users to report issues, has seen over 100,000 reports made in the last hour, and that number is continuing to rise. Sal Castaneda, a reporter with KTVU, said that the company had acknowledged a significant outage affecting cities across California.

What should you do if you are without service?

The company’s social media pages have no public statement posted, but it appears that on X, representatives are responding to customers voicing their frustration with the outage and advising them to send a direct message to the Verizon account.

If you are in an emergency, you may still be able to call 911. If the situation is less dire, then it might just be a waiting game, and in the meantime, try connecting to WiFi.
