Outside of Mexico, the largest population of Mexicans can be found in the United States. This population group represents the highest among Hispanics living in the U.S.

According to the latest data from the United States Census Bureau, the Hispanic population in the U.S. reached 62.1 million in 2020, which represents 19% of the population. This is the second largest racial or ethnic group in the country, behind white Americans and ahead of black Americans.

Hispanics are also one of the fastest growing groups in the country. According to the Census Bureau, between 2010 and 2020, the Hispanic population in the U.S. grew by 23%. Since 1970, the increase in Latinos has been considerable, since in that year, Hispanics constituted 5% of the US population and numbered only 9.6 million. Currently, it has multiplied by more than six.

What are the cities in the United States with the most Mexican inhabitants?

Data from the 2020 census indicate that the largest Hispanic group in the country is the Mexican population, which in that year reached 35.9 million. This represents 58% of the general Hispanic population in the United States.

The next biggest group is the Hispanic population of the Caribbean, which includes people from Cuba, Puerto Rico, and the Dominican Republic, among others. The third largest Hispanic group is from Central America, which includes Costa Rica, Guatemala, Honduras, Nicaragua, Panama and El Salvador.

Regarding the places with the most Mexicans in the United States, according to the Census Bureau, the Mexican population is the largest Hispanic group in 40 states of the country, the only exceptions being Pennsylvania, New York, New Hampshire, Massachusetts, New Jersey, Connecticut, Florida, Hawaii, Maryland and Rhode Island.

Among the states with the most Mexicans are California, Texas and Arizona. The cities in the United States with the highest Mexican population are: Los Angeles, California; Houston Texas; San Antonio, Texas; Phoenix, Arizona and El Paso, Texas.
