Heading into Monday’s Powerball drawing, the jackpot had reached an estimated $135 million, with a $61 million cash option. But organizers say there were no tickets that scooped the grand prize - so the top figure has now risen to an estimated $147 million ($66.6 million cash option) ahead of the lottery’s next instalment.

The next Powerball drawing is scheduled for 10:59 p.m. ET/7:59 p.m. PT on Wednesday, Mar. 25, 2026.
What happens if you win the Powerball jackpot? Two options:
• Receive the jackpot in full, as an annuity payment spread over 30 annual instalments that grow each year.
• Claim the lump-sum “cash option”, which is smaller but paid all at once.
It’s important to note that winnings are pre-tax amounts.
