What did Brad Pitt say about Angelina Jolie’s allegations of abuse against her and their children?
Angelina Jolie has addressed the 2016 incident she suffered with Brad Pitt on a plane flight, alleging that the actor strangled and beat her children.
In February of this year, Brad Pitt filed a lawsuit against Angelina Jolie for allegedly selling their shares of a wine company, Château Miraval, without his consent. The actor claimed that the actress went through with the alleged sale in secret, deliberately keeping Pitt in the dark and knowingly violating Pitt’s contractual rights.
This October 4, according to E! News, Jolie has filed a counter-suit denying Pitt’s allegations, as well as revealing details of the 2016 incident she and Pitt had while flying with their children.
Angelina Jolie alleges that Brad Pitt strangled and beat her children in 2016
In the documents obtained by the outlet, Jolie addressed the incident that allegedly occurred days before she decided to file for divorce. The papers filed state that Pitt accused Jolie “of being “too deferential” to their kids.”
At that point, Pitt attempted to make physical contact with one of the children, and the actress jumped on his back to stop him. All while again flying, Pitt “threw himself backward against the plane’s seats, injuring Jolie’s back and elbow.”
The documents say that Jolie reported that “the children ran in and all bravely tried to protect each other.” Their efforts were not strong enough, with Jolie accusing Pitt of choking one of their kids and striking another in the face.
“Some of the children pleaded with Pitt to stop. They were all frightened. Many were crying,” read the record.
The events continued when the family landed, when “Jolie told Pitt she was taking their children to the hotel.”
Jolie alleges that “Pitt proceeded to scream at his then-wife ‘and pushed her down yet again.’”
How many children does the couple have?
The former couple, who was declared legally single by a judge in 2019, share six children, Maddox, 21, Pax, 18, Zahara, 17, Shiloh, 16, and twins Vivienne and Knox, 14 years old.
How has Brad Pitt responded to the allegations?
Pitt’s legal team informed CNN that the accusations are “completely untrue.”
The statement continues on to say: “(Jolie’s) story continues to evolve each time she tells it with new, unsubstantiated claims. Brad has accepted responsibility for what he did but will not for things he didn’t do. These new allegations are completely untrue.”
The incident was investigated by the FBI back in 2016, and when the case was closed, Brad Pitt was not arrested or charged with any crimes. Laura Eimiller, the FBI spokeswoman, made a short statement to CNN as well, saying that the agency “conducted a review of the circumstances and will not pursue further investigation.”
