The sending of stimulus checks and tax refunds as inflation relief continues in the United States. Several states in the US approved the sending of payments as inflation continues to record the highest levels in the last 40 years. California

The state government approved the sending of the Middle Class Tax Refund of up to $1,050. Payments began going out in October and will continue until January of next year. Here we share more details, eligibility requirements and how to claim the payment.

Hawaii

The tax refund in the state began in September, but physical checks will not be mailed until the end of October. Residents who earned less than $100,000 in 2021, or $200,000 if filing jointly, will receive a refund $300 tax return this year, and dependents are also eligible for the refund.

Individuals who have earn more than $100,000 and couples who have income over $200,000 will receive a one-time payment of $100.

Illinois

About 150 households in the city of Evanston will receive payments of $500 through the Universal Basic Income pilot program. The delivery will be monthly for one year. Payments will start to be sent from November 1, 2022.

Idaho

On September 1, 2022, a Special Session of the Idaho Legislature passed and Governor Brad Little signed a bill authorizing 192,000 $600 tax refund checks. The state provides more on eligibility details and how to claim.

“By Thanksgiving, almost everyone who didn't file their tax return late or had a complication or was flagged should get it,” the governor said.

Indiana

The Indiana Legislature approved sending $200 dollars to residents, money to be sent this month.

New York

Later this month, New Yorkers who received the Empire State Child Credit and/or the Earned Income Credit for their 2021 state tax returns will be able to receive an average payment of $270.

New Mexico

Some families will receive checks up to $400. Eligibility and payment amounts are subject to the availability of state funds. The lowest income applicants will be given priority. Checks by mail will be sent in November.

Virginia

Taxpayers will receive $250 tax refunds ($500 for joint filers). Eligible residents who filed before July 1 should receive their refund by October 31. The rest of the checks will be sent over the remainder of the year.
