The circumstances surrounding Kate Middleton have become a mystery. It has been two months since an abdominal surgery removed her from public view, and ever since things have gotten a little strange, as this timeline of events shows. Into the void of uncertainty has been sucked a number of rumours and conspiracy theories, with no public sightings of her creating a sense of unease for some. She may be a member of the British Royal Family and therefore have responsibilities to fulfil, but she is also a person, a mother, a wife, and must be thought of as such in what could be difficult circumstances.

Kate Middleton’s uncle speaks out

The information from the Palace has been drip-fed, and the blatant manipulation of images depicting the princess with her children has sparked various theories regarding her health, speculations that now encounter a solid barrier as the possible date of her public reappearance comes to light. Although not from an official source.

The person who has confessed such news, perhaps answering one of the most pressing questions in the minds of the interested followers in recent weeks, is the princess’s uncle, Gary Goldsmith, who until a few days ago had been kept away from the press due to a surreal alibi: he was participating in the British version of Celebrity Big Brother. Known for his propensity to stir up scandals, once Middleton’s relative set foot on the street, new television station GB News were quick to snap him up for an interview.

“I think she’s got the best support infrastructure on the planet. She has got the best people looking after her. I just don’t understand all this stuff at the moment.”

Although it remains unclear to what extent Goldsmith is aware of the princess’s situation, given the opacity of Buckingham Palace and his stay in the ‘celebrity’ house, he stated clearly that we should expect to see her when it was previously advised.

“They [the Palace] have been very clear and transparent, we’ll see her at Easter, and nothing has changed.”

Princess of Wales’ uncle plays Big Brother

Gary Goldsmith is the brother of Carole Middleton, Kate’s mother, and, among other things, he is also the first contestant to be evicted from the current season of the reality show. It was an intense five days inside the house, but a time during which he says he had a “great time.”

Due to his surname and the context of the British royal family, his eviction has come as a disappointment to many who were hoping to continue seeing the Princess of Wales’ relative on television, possibly giving away more insights. He himself included this condition in his promotional introduction: “I am the uncle of the future queen of our country.” It reportedly wasn’t something that sat too well with the Royal Family.
