Who will receive $943 from Social Security on March 1?
The Social Security Administration is preparing to send out payments for next month. Here are the beneficiaries who will receive money on Friday, March 1.
As February comes to a close, the Social Security Administration (SSA) is preparing to send payments for the month of March.
Each month, beneficiaries of the retirement, survivor, Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI) and Supplemental Security Income (SSI) programs receive their payments on specific dates, which are established thanks to the schedule of SSA payments.
The Social Security and SSI payment schedule
Supplemental Security Income payments are sent on the first day of each month. After that, checks are sent on the third day of each month to beneficiaries who began receiving their payments before May 1997.
For those who collect both Social Security benefits (retirees or survivors) and SSI, the SSI payment is sent on the first day of the month and the Social Security payment is sent on the third day.
The rest of the Social Security checks (retirees, survivors and SSDI) are sent on Wednesdays, depending on the date of birth of the beneficiaries.
If any payment date falls on a Saturday, Sunday, or federal holiday, sending the money is advanced to the preceding business day.

Payments are sent via direct deposit to beneficiaries who have shared their bank account details with the SSA or via mail in a paper check, which takes longer to arrive.
This year, average payments for retired workers rose to just over $1,900, according to the SSA. SSI benefits have risen to $943 for individuals and $1,415 for couples.
