Who won’t receive Social Security payment in the first week of March?

The year is flying by with March just on the horizon, heralding the latest round of Social Security payments.

The date on which retired workers receive their monthly payment depends on their date of birth, while SSI benefits are distributed on the first of each month.

Those who requested their retirement before May 1997, as workers who retired before this date receive the payment on the third day of the month, as well as recipients of Supplemental Security Income (SSI), will receive their benefits in the first week of March.

This means everyone else has to wait. Recipients who were born between the 1st and 10th receive the money on the second Wednesday of the month, while those who were born between the 11th and the 20th get their check on the third Wednesday of the month.

Retirees whose birth dates fall from the 21st to the 31st can expect their benefits on the fourth Wednesday of the month.

On average, retired individuals receive a monthly payment of $1,907, while couples receive $3,033. For those receiving SSI, the average payment for individuals in 2024 is $943, and for couples, it is $1,415. For those receiving SSDI, individuals receive an average of $1,537, while couples receive $2,720
