Who’s dining with Trump today? The top tech CEOs attending — and why Musk is missing
Donald Trump is set to host a number of top tech CEOs at the new Mar-a-Lago-style rose garden.
Trump, Cook, Zuck, and Gates are dining together at the White House as the President is having a number of his tech bros — sorry, CEOs — over for dinner. Turkey dinosaurs and mashed potatoes are on the menu for Donald, as well as his favourite: cheap eggs.
However, in true you’re-never-coming-to-my-birthday-party-ever-again form, Donald hasn’t invited his ex-BFF, Elon Musk, who is still sat cross-legged in his room, typing furiously into Grok’s image generator, ever since he was kicked out of the White House setup. I’m thinking Elon’s head on the Wolverine meme.
Gone are the heady days when the pair would drive around in Teslas, cheat-sheets in hand as they tried to sell them on the White House lawn: their very public breakup seems to have stabbed King Arthur’s sword into the heart-shaped stone.
Who is invited to Trump’s tech-bro dinner?
“The Rose Garden Club at the White House is the hottest place to be in Washington, or perhaps the world. The president looks forward to welcoming top business, political, and tech leaders for this dinner and the many dinners to come on the new, beautiful Rose Garden patio,” White House spokesman Davis Ingle said in a statement.
Just so you’re aware, the Rose Garden Club at the White House is the scene of the horticultural nightmare that recently spread across Twitter, showing the freshly cut lawn cemented over, onto which tacky beach parasols were stuck between Mar-a-Lago-style garden furniture. “The hottest place to be” now looks like the garden of a former residential home that shut down in the 1980s and has been suffering the elements ever since.
CNN wrote that “the dinner plans came together quickly”, and the event takes place on the same day first lady Melania Trump will make a rare public appearance as she hosts an event at the White House focused on artificial intelligence.
