Britney Spears has threatened not to return to the stage. That was the shocking news on Sunday, as the Princess of Pop took to her official Instagram account to make the first public comments about her future, after finally being released from the guardianship of her father, James Parnell Spears.

Unfortunately, Britney’s comments did not turn out to be good news for her army of followers, as the artist threatened to not return to the stage due to a series of traumas, derived from the guardianship in which it was immersed for the last 13 years.

Will Britney Spears perform again?

In a post that has since been deleted from her official Instagram account, the singer revealed that she had no control over the creative processes of her music: They prohibited her from deciding how many dancers to have in the stage and choose the concepts for her promotional photos, including the final selection of the images themselves.

These actions, created many insecurities for Britney, which ended up becoming “lifelong” traumas, so appearing on stage again is not part of her plans... for the moment.

“I’d rather quit … and literally shit in my pool and shoot photos of myself in studios over working with the most offensive people in my life,” she said in the post. “I’m pretty traumatized for life and yes I’m pissed as fuck and no I probably won’t perform again just because I’m stubborn and I will make my point.”

Britney Spears releases new music

Britney Spears’ statements come weeks after the artist released the single ‘Hold Me Closer’, a collaboration with Elton John.

This is Britney’s first single in the last six years and the first time she’s released music since her conservatorship ended. It is worth mentioning that the song is a modern day version of ‘Tiny Dancer’, Elton John’s 1971 hit.

The last time Britney performed live on stage was December 31, 2017, in Las Vegas.
