Why has Britney Spears blocked her mother and is not talking to her?

A apology from Britney’s mother was met with an expletive-laden reply as the relationship between the family remains a mess nearly one year on.

Britney Spears has emphatically rejected an apology from her mother on Instagram, telling Lynne Spears to “go fuck herself”.

“I am soooo sorry for your pain! I have been sorry for years! I love you so much and miss you,” Lynne wrote in a comment to a post from Britney. “Please unblock me so I can speak to you in person! Britney, deep down you know how much I love and miss you! I apologize for anything and everything that’s hurt you!”

Britney bit back with a post a few days later with this caption.

“For 13 years, I had to meet doctors weekly to bring up my past which made it worse !!! As for my whole family including my brother, sister, cousins, aunts, uncles, and well damn the whole audience… were either stoned or drunk of their asses !!! I was the mother fucking Saint who was scared to move or I knew my dad would put me somewhere if I didn’t cooperate … even in America, the land of the free !!!!” she wrote.

“Not one mother fucking person stood up for me !!! Mom take your apology and go fuck yourself !!!” she ended, “And to all the doctors for fucking with my mind … I pray you all burn in hell !!! Kiss my mother fucking ass !!!!”

Clearly not happy. Britney’s mother is still trying to claw back some $600,000 in legal fees from her daughter, according to court documents.

The background between Britney and her family

Back in November 2021, a Los Angeles court ruled that Britney’s conservatorship must be terminated after it being in place for 13 years.

The agreement, initially sought by Spears’ father, affected the pop star’s personal life and finances and was the subject of much media attention after two documentaries into the situation.
