Will Priscilla Presley be buried next to ex-husband Elvis as she requested?
The former wife of the rock and roll legend reached a settlement after querying the validity of her daughter’s will in a battle with her granddaughter.
The legal dispute surrounding the will of Elvis Presley’s daughter has come to an end. Both parties, that of Priscilla Presley and her granddaughter Riley Keough, came to a settlement after Priscilla had filed petitioned the veracity of the will.
“The parties would like to report that they’ve reached a settlement,” Ronson J. Shamoun, Priscilla Presley’s attorney, told Judge Lynn Scaduto at a court hearing in Los Angeles on Tuesday.
The value of the settlement has not been revealed but is reported to be in the millions.
Elvis and Priscilla’s daughter, Lisa Marie died in January 2023 and the cause of her death is unknown. It is thought she died from cardiac arrest after addictions to opioids and painkillers.
While the financial aspects of the will have not been confirmed, one request from Priscilla has been claimed to be denied. TMZ reports that she wanted to be buried next to Elvis, but this will not happen. They also reported Priscilla did to challenge this greatly; he is buried flanked by both his parents.

The signature at the centre of the legal dispute
Priscilla had filed a legal challenge to her daughter’s will in January, claiming that a 2016 amendment that removed her as trustee was not valid.
It was claimed the amendment to Lisa Marie’s “misspells her mother’s name” and bears a signature by Lisa Marie that “appears inconsistent with her usual and customary signature”, says the court filing seen by the BBC.
“The families are happy,” Shamoun told reporters outside court. “Everyone is happy, unified, together and excited for the future.”
