Will Rosalynn Carter’s funeral service be televised? How to watch on TV and online | Time and date

Beginning Monday Nov. 27 there will be three days of memorial services for the late Rosalynn Carter with the funeral service on Wednesday Nov. 29.

The Carter Center announced on Friday that former First Lady Rosalynn Carter had entered hospice care. Sadly, the wife of former president Jimmy Carter, who has been in hospice care since February, passed away on Sunday at the age of 96. “She died peacefully, with family by her side,” a statement said.

“A passionate champion of mental health, caregiving, and women’s rights,” she is survived by her four children – three sons John William “Jack,” James Earl “Chip,” Donnel Jeffrey “Jeff” and daughter Amy– as well as 11 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

Beginning Monday 27 November there will be three days of memorial services for the late Rosalynn Carter ending with the funeral service on Wednesday Nov. 29. She is to be interred in a private ceremony at the Carter residence in Plains, Georgia.

Those who wish to pay their respects at the public-facing services are invited to do so by the Carter family. Those who cannot do so in person can watch the memorial services and funeral which will be broadcast by major television networks and streamed online.

Rosalynn Carter’s memorial and funeral service schedule

On Monday 27 November from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m., the public may pay their respects as Mrs. Carter lies in repose at the Jimmy Carter Presidential Library and Museum. There will be Parking and a shuttle available at St. Luke’s Episcopal Church, 435 Peachtree St. NE, Atlanta.

Tuesday 28 November, a tribute service will be held at Glenn Memorial Church at Emory University with invited guests from 1 p.m. to 2:30 p.m.

Then on Wednesday Nov. 29, Mrs Carter will be taken to the Maranatha Baptist Church in Plains where a funeral service will be held for family and invited friends. Afterwards she will be transported to the family residence where she will be buried.

The public is welcome according to the Carter Center to view the family motorcade from designated viewing areas along the route from the church, down Bond Street, and along Hwy. 280 in downtown Plains. It’s requested that everyone respect private property and park only in designated areas.
