Will Spirit Airlines Bankruptcy affect my flight this Thanksgiving?
With the busiest travel holiday just around the corner, many travelers may be concerned if they have a flight booked with Spirit to head home for Thanksgiving. The Florida-based carrier says that customers can rest assured that for the time being there won’t be any disruptions to normal operations.
“The most important thing to know is that you can continue to book and fly now and in the future,” Spirit said in a letter to its customers.
The low-cost carrier also reassured customers that they “can use all tickets, credits and loyalty points as normal.” Likewise, Spirit customers “can continue to benefit from our Free Spirit loyalty program, Saver$ Club perks and credit card terms.”
Spirit Airlines says that it expects to finish the financial restructuring process in the first quarter of 2025. After which it hopes to “emerge even better positioned to deliver the best value in the sky,” the open letter to customers said. It reminded them as well that “other airlines that are operating successfully today have undertaken a similar process.”
