During a TV three-hour special, Japanese fans ranked their 100 favorite video games throughout history on a poll with some expected yet fascinating results.

A total of 50,000 people in Japan voted on a special poll created by Japanese television network TV Asahi to rank in the top 100 video games of all time. The results were presented through a three-hour special, where celebrities and Japanese media presented each of the most voted games, showing the trends within the country.

The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild is Japan’s Favorite

In first place, we have Link's most recent adventure as the favorite game among the Japanese. Then we have Dragon Quest V and Final Fantasy VII, which also speaks of the mark left by titles with more than 25 years of history. The list is full of names that cannot be missing in any ranking of the best video games of all time. Franchises such as Final Fantasy, Pokémon, Super Mario, and Dragon Quest are a constant part of the list, reflecting the country's preferences.
