Pokémon GO – Lunar New Year event 2022: all missions and rewards
February 2022 kicks off with the Chinese New Year celebration, the debut of shiny Litleo as well as different bonuses, wild encounters and timed researchs.
Pokémon GO kicks off February with its Lunar New Year 2022 event. We have a lot of activities and content ahead of us to make the most of this celebration and achieve the main goal of the celebration: to meet shiny Litleo for the first time in the game. Here we list all the missions and rewards of the two timed researches focused around catching and friendship.
Lunar New Year event: date, time and features
The Lunar New Year 2022 event will run from this Tuesday, February 1, 2022, at 10:00 a.m. to Monday, February 7, 2022, at 8:00 p.m. local time. During these hours we will be able to benefit from the following event bonuses:
- Increased chance for Lucky Pokémon in trades
- Increased chance to become Lucky Friends
- Double Stardust from opening Gifts
- 1 extra special trade per day*
We also have novelties in wild encounters, such as Voltorb and Hisuian Voltorb (which debuted last week in Pokémon Legends Arceus), Torchic, Litleo, Combusken, Gyarados and Electabuzz, among many others. Likewise, it highlights the appearance of Regirock in the five-star raids and Mega-Houndoom in the Mega Raids. Timed research: Friendship Challenge
- Send 5 Gifts and add a sticker to each – Torchic encounter
- Trade 3 Pokemon with a friend – Corphish encounter
- Send 15 Gifts to friends – Darumaka encounter
- Send Gifts 3 days in a row – Unknown encounter
Rewards: Unknown encounter, 1,000 XP, 1,000 Stardust
Timed research: Catch Challenge
- Catch 10 Pokemon – 10x Poke Balls
- Catch 25 Pokemon – 15x Great Balls
- Catch 25 Fire type Pokemon – 20x Ultra Balls
- Catch 10 different species of Pokemon – Litleo encounter
Reward: Espurr encounter, 1,000 XP, 1,000 Stardust
