Stranger of Paradise: Final Fantasy Origin receives a demo with the first three levels

Stranger of Paradise: Final Fantasy Origin allows users to see how the first hours of the adventure will unfold. The demo, already available on PS5, PS4 and Xbox, was part of the latest edition of State of Play's announcements.

What does the Stranger of Paradise: Final Fantasy Origin demo include?

The Stranger of Paradise: Final Fantasy Origin demo allows you to play the first three levels of the game, from the beginning of the story to the West Fortress mission. It is also enabled the possibility of sharing the adventure in cooperative up to 3 players. All the progress you make can be transferred to the final game.

A strong focus on multiplayer

With the release of this demo, PlayStation Blog Daisuke Inoue of Square Enix, and Nobumichi Kumabe of Koei Tecmo Games, wrote about the importance of multiplayer that their upcoming title has and how it will work.

“The host player will control Jack, and the guest players will control the two companion NPCs which the host selected ahead of time,” wrote Kumabe. “Mission progress will carry over for all players. Gear dropped by enemies and experience points earned will all carry over to each individual player, ensuring once the multiplayer session is over, everyone leaves feeling rewarded for their efforts.”

For the team, finding the perfect balance of players for the multiplayer was something important from the beginning. “We did consider the idea of a four-player co-op since we see a party of four in the original Final Fantasy, [...] but we found that the space could also get too chaotic when there are too many players,” wrote Inoue “We also considered a two-player co-op at one point, but felt that players would sense a high risk towards participation since the responsibility of failing a mission [...], so ultimately, we decided three players would be best.”

How long is Stranger of Paradise: Final Fantasy Origin?

Meanwhile, Jin Fujiwara, game producer, assures in a PlayStation Blog Spain post that completing the game will take around 40 hours. He stresses that we will reach that figure if players progress "at a good pace" through the main story. Alongside the main quests, we will find "independent" side quests.

Remember that Stranger of Paradise: FInal Fantasy Origin is scheduled for official release on March 18 on PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One and PC.
