How to use Ashen Remains

The first thing you should know is that the summoning ashes are equipped in the quick items menu just like any consumable item such as vials or other special items. The second thing is that you can only use them in enabled areas such as fights against final bosses or some areas of the open world where there are important fights or battles against groups. To detect when it is possible to summon, look at the left side of the screen: if a blue icon appears in the shape of a door, you will be able to summon.

However, there is one thing you should always keep in mind: if you perform a summon, you will not be able to request help from other players. The same goes the other way around, because if you touch the signal of an allied player and you play in cooperative mode, the summoning ashes will be blocked in that session.

Almost all ashes require a certain amount of CP to be used. The simplest ones use very little, but the most powerful ones require a high amount and you will have to increase your Mind attribute to be able to use them. There are some special ashes like the Mimic Tear Spirit Ashes that don't use Focus Points; instead they consume health, so be prepared to heal yourself as soon as you use them.

Here is the fastest way to get Mimic Tear Spirit Ashes.
