Migration
The Elder Scrolls Arena and more Bethesda classics for free on Steam
Several Bethesda classics are available for free on Steam following the announcement that the Bethesda.net client will be shut down on May 11.
Bethesda is offering a small part of its catalog of classics for free on Steam. As part of the migration of its launcher to Valve's platform, you can currently get The Elder Scrolls: Arena, The Elder Scrolls II: Daggerfall and Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory at no additional cost.
The files of the three games were uploaded during this April 26. Their profile does not indicate a limited free period, suggesting that they will remain free indefinitely. Other classics from the studio are also available as of today. The Elder Scrolls Adventures: Redguard and An Elder Scrolls Legend: Battlespire are on sale for $4.99.
Bethesda.net migration to Steam
Bethesda.net will close its doors on May 11. Therefore, the company is encouraging its customers to migrate their library to Steam. The process will begin on April 27 and will cover titles such as Doom Eternal. You are guaranteed to keep all your progress and purchases.
The migration will add all the games you've purchased from Bethesda to your Steam profile. So far the process has not been detailed, so players will have to wait for official communication from the company.
The closure of Bethesda.net will not affect The Elder Scrolls: Online. Zenimax Online's MMORPG operates under its own client; in fact, if you buy it on Steam you will also have to make use of its own launcher. In the case of Fallout 76 it will be affected. As we said, your progress is guaranteed. If you are a Fallout 1st subscriber, you will be rewarded with a number of atoms proportional to the remaining months until you renew the year again.
