New update
Genshin Impact updates will have to wait: patch 2.7 delayed until further notice
miHoYo announces that the features of the new update of its action RPG will arrive later than expected, although it does not specify the reasons.
Genshin Impact, the popular free-to-play action RPG developed by miHoYo, has halted completely the release of its latest update 2.7, delaying its launch indefinitely until further notice. This has been communicated by its developers, and they have called the title's frequent players for further news about this new patch. This delay is a setback for all those users who were expecting to enjoy the latest features of this new batch of content this May on PC, consoles and mobiles.
miHoYo apologizes and thanks fans for their support
The Genshin Impact development team is constantly working on new content and updates for a video game that bases its business model on unlocking new characters and quests, with the corresponding option of acquiring power-ups to accelerate progress. This progress will suffer a slight break for now due to the impossibility of launching the new batch of content with the game's patch 2.7.
“Dear Travelers, Due to project progress, the Version 2.7 update will be postponed. For detailed information on the date of the new update, content adjustment plan, and compensation, please stay tuned for upcoming announcements,” reads the official Twitter account. “We will provide the corresponding information to Travelers as soon as possible. We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience caused. Thank you for your support and understanding along this journey.”
As we can read, miHoYo is working on its next version release - for the moment without a date - and a plan of adjustments and compensation for the delay. And although the specific reason for this delay has not been disclosed, everything points to the fact that the restrictions in Shanghai due to the new cases of coronavirus may have a lot to do with it.
In the meantime, Genshin Impact fans can enjoy the web event "New Adventure? Let's Go!" web event, available only until May 5 and requires to login with the game's user account.
