Update:
F1 22: we took a test drive on Formula 1's new Miami track

Through a digital presentation, Electronic Arts and Codemasters gave us a preview of what will be their upcoming racing game, F1 22. To mark the occasion of the Miami Grand Prix race, we were allowed to explore the in-game track to get our first impressions of the game.

The PC specifications on which we ran on this track are:

  • CPU: AMD Ryzen 9 3950X
  • Graphics Card: GeForce RTX 3080
  • RAM: 32 GB HyperX RAM Fury RGB at 3200Mhz DDR4

It is important to add that we also played it with a Playseat Rig and the Logitech G29 racing wheel compatible with Xbox One, Xbox Series and PC, achieving a complete and incredible experience.

Within this experience, we were able to feel a change in the physics, which obeys the new aerodynamic rules of Formula 1. Along with this, the virtual representation of the Miami International Autodrome lets us see and especially feel the experience of being located in the heart of the city, to the extent of being able to see the Hard Rock Stadium complex, home of the Miami Dolphins. These aspects are proof of the level of detail that Codemasters has maintained throughout its various deliveries and that to date, they manage to transport to the video game all the details that F1 fans see in each of the competitions.

This track has 19 corners and 3 DRS zones, which with all the ambiance really makes us feel inside the GP of Miami.

To see the compatibility with different aspect ratios, we ran it with a monitor resolution: 2560 x 1080 at 144 HZ and kept an average of over 100 FPS, although it is important to note that it is not the final version, so the cars, animations, sponsors, menus, lighting effects and especially performance are not what we will see in the final build.

In the Hands-On video prepared by our colleagues in Mexico, you can see a close-up of what this new release has in store for us, and it really shows the effort made by the developers to bring the sport closer to all kinds of audiences.

F1 22 will arrive next July 1 on PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One and PC, in the meantime, we invite you to read all the upcoming news we will have about it.
