Sonic Frontiers shows its power in combat during an extensive gameplay
SEGA shares along with IGN new gameplay of Sonic Frontiers, this time focused on the action and combat. What's in store for the blue hedgehog?
SEGA continues to reveal news about Sonic Frontiers, the next installment of the famous blue hedgehog. This time the studio focuses on Sonic's combat capabilities. He will face numerous robotic threats that appear around the enclaves of an ancient civilization. You can watch the video below this paragraph.
Sonic Frontiers in the ring: fights against robots
There are two key moments in the video shared by IGN. The first is obvious: the way Sonic breaks through his opponent's defense. While running, he can activate a blue trail that, by forming a circle, reveals the enemy's true form. When it happens, his attacks are concentrated into energy projectiles launched from the tip of his boots.
The second appears in the final section. Sonic faces a giant robot that requires three phases to be killed. The hedgehog turns into a ball and propels himself through the chassis until he reaches the top, where the reddish-colored antennae are the key to his survival.
The rest of the video combines other individual combats with small robots and journeys through the world. The clash between the ancient civilization we alluded to and the modern structures will be one of the keys to the plot.
At the moment we do not have a concrete release date. We do know that it is scheduled to debut sometime in late 2022 on PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PC and Nintendo Switch. Sonic Frontiers coverage over the past few days focused on other elements of the game.
Initially, it was expected to be published last year, but the studio finally needed more time to shape one of the most ambitious deliveries of its trajectory.
