Diablo 4: how to sign up for the closed beta on Xbox X/S Series and PS5

Shortly before Diablo IV appeared at the Xbox & Bethesda Games Showcase conference, Blizzard Entertainment opened closed beta pre-registration on the game's official website. It was initially implied that testing would take place on the next-gen machines, Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S and PS5, but for now the platforms are not yet listed. Interested in signing up? All you need is a Battle.net account, Activision Blizzard's gaming platform.

How to register for the Diablo IV Beta

To register, you must first log in with your Battle.net account and then continue with the process as explained. These are the steps:

  1. If you do not have a Battle.net account, register for free here.
  2. Then log in with your username and password.
  3. Finally, click on the pre-registration button. The account will be automatically linked.

The million dollar question: when does the Diablo IV closed beta start? The answer is that we still don't know, Blizzard Entertainment hasn't said anything. What has been officially confirmed is that the title will be available next year 2023, still without a more concrete release date. "Sign up now for a chance to be included in future beta tests."

Diablo IV will incorporate cross-play and cross-progression between all its versions. The new edition of the classic action and role-playing title will also let you enjoy the experience with a friend in local cooperative mode. There will be no option, however, to play the game offline, since it is a product that requires a permanent connection.

The game is in development for Xbox One, Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, PS4, PS5 and PC. The production has suffered some delays due to the situation within Blizzard Entertainment, with accusations of sexual and labor harassment that ended with the dismissal of the original director of Diablo IV.

Blizzard has also confirmed the launch of Overwatch 2 under the free-to-play model. It will be released on October 21.
