The live-action adaptation of the popular webcomic and anime One-Punch Man by Sony Pictures continues on track after confirming the signing of a prominent action film director. Justin Lin, famous for having directed several installments of the popular Fast & Furious saga -and his recent and controversial departure as director of Fast X-, will be in charge of directing the live-action film starring the peculiar hero Saitama, capable of defeating his enemies with a simple yet forceful punch. This was reported by Variety, announcing the signing of the filmmaker responsible for films such as Fast & Furious 9, Star Trek Beyond, Fast Five or some episodes of the True Detective series, among other works.

Thus, it seems that the departure of the director of the filming of the last installment of Fast & Furious has come as a ring to Sony Pictures to sign Lin as the head of a project that has been in the chamber for several years and that finally seems to finally begin to see the light. In addition, Lin joins Rosenberg and Pinker as producer and screenwriter, thus having total control of the franchise.
