NBA 2K23 and Michael Jordan pay tribute to the 23 in special editions trailer
Michael Jordan will be the cover of the new NBA 2K23 in its two special versions, both the Championship Edition and the Michael Jordan Edition.
Legends never die. His Airness, Michael Jordan, will be the cover of NBA 2K23 in its Championship Edition and in the version that bears his name, the Michael Jordan Edition. The 14-time NBA All-Star, five-time MVP, six-time NBA champion and Hall of Fame inductee was chosen because of how well he fits this year's theme: Answer the Call. As an athlete, Jordan always rose to the occasion, at any stage and against any opponent. He amazed the world throughout his career and left an undeniable impact on basketball.
“After making 23 the most recognizable number in sports, it was only fitting that for NBA 2K23 we introduce the Michael Jordan Edition," said Alfie Brody, vice president of Global Marketing Strategy for NBA 2K. “We’re thrilled to introduce a brand new premium edition of the game with the NBA 2K23 Championship Edition, as no other player embodies the word ‘champion’ like Jordan. This limited-edition version will also offer players the opportunity to catch on-court action throughout the season with a 12-month subscription to NBA League Pass."
Jordan Challenges are back
In addition to the Championship Edition, NBA 2K23 will bring back The Jordan Challenges, a game mode that challenges us to recreate 15 iconic moments from the player's illustrious career. Inherited from NBA 2K11, where there were ten, the challenges have been recreated from scratch and will include five specific to the Chicago Bulls star. It will be a standalone game mode and will cover his college career, his achievements with the USA Basketball Team and moments in the NBA that will be commented on by teammates and opponents, as well as other great personalities from the world of sports.
This will be Jordan's fourth time on the cover after his appearances in NBA 2K11, NBA 2K12 and NBA 2K16 Special Edition. However, this will be the most important of them all. NBA 2K23 will arrive next September 9 for PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PC and Nintendo Switch.
