Resident Evil Village will receive free update to improve accessibility options
Capcom will allow you to choose the size of the subtitles, their color and other accessibility features that will bring the game closer to more players.
More than a year after its release, Resident Evil Village is more alive than ever. The video game has not only triumphed in sales, but critics have also responded favorably to the most recent work in Capcom's survival horror franchise. With the upcoming Winters’ Expansion on the horizon, the developers are announcing a free update, which will be available starting October 28. As reported on the video game's official Twitter account, the patch will focus specifically on accessibility options.
“A free accessibility update for all Resident Evil Village users is coming alongside the Winters' Expansion and Gold Edition in October,” they posted. And what will it include?
These are the announced changes
- Subtitle size, color & background toggles
- Speaker name display in story mode
- Closed captions
- Permanent reticle
The Winters’ Expansion is a paid downloadable content that will come with the game's first story DLC. In addition to Shadows of Rose, the game will implement a first-person mode, as well as The Mercenaries Additional Orders, which will allow players to use iconic characters such as Chris Redfield or Lady Dimitrescu.
As for the standalone multiplayer game that comes free with the eighth installment, Resident Evil Re:Verse, players will be able to access it the same day this update and the Winters’ Expansion release date, on October 28. This title was initially planned for last year, but has been delayed several times. It seems that this time it is the definitive one.
Resident Evil Village is available on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, PC and Google Stadia. The Netflix series has just premiered on the platform and has become one of the worst-rated series not only of the franchise but of the entire catalog of the service.
