New Pokémon TCG expansion, Scarlet & Violet moves and Worlds 2023 revealed
The Pokémon World Championship 2022 is over, but its closing ceremony has shown us a sneak peek of the future of Pokémon in video game and TCG.
The Pokémon World Championship 2022 is finally over. After 4 days of competitions a new set of champions had raised to become the very best,as no one ever was. Along with the latest champions at Pokkén, Pokémon Unite, Pokémon Go Pokémon Trading Card Game and Pokémon Sword & Shield, announcements related to the Trading Card Game and the upcoming Scarlet & Violet video game were announced.
A new expansion based on Scarlet & Violet is announced
Based on the upcoming Scarlet & Violet, the Trading Card Game will receive the a new expansion in 2023 which will introduce “the new standard” EX cards. This cards, as previous versions will introduce a new card mechanic. Koraidon ex, Miraidon ex, Mimikyu ex, Lucario ex, and Magnezone ex are among the new cards. As with previous special cards, when a Pokémon is Knocked Out, this cards will give two Prize cards instead of one.
New Pokémon and competitive moves
New moves and Pokémon were presented during this quick video. Cyclizar, a new Dragon/Normal Pokémon was introduced. Along with this, a new set of moves were introduced. The first one is Shed Tail, where a Pokémon can create a substitute, then swap places with another Pokémon in the party. The second new move introduced is Tera Blast, which changes type when the user has Terastallized. The new item Mirror Herb copies an opponent’s stats increases when consumed. The other new item is loaded dice, which makes movies more likely to hit more times.

As part of the final announcement by Tsunekazu Ishihara, Pokémon Company International CEO and president, the upcoming Pokémon World Championship 2023 will be held for the first time in Japan. No details have been given about dates of this next Pokémon reunion, but surely we will give you all the information when this is available.
