Destiny 2 confirms its next expansion, Lightfall, which will be released on February 28, 2023 on PS5, PS4, Xbox X Series X|S, Xbox One, PC and Google Stadia. The game shifts towards an eighties and urban visual style as we face unprecedented threats. You can watch the trailer below.
First details of Lightfall, the next expansion of Destiny 2
"Shattered glass glints in the starlight. Soldiers of the Shadow Legion battle with Guardians under the unmistakable shadows of the fleet overhead—the Witness and its newest disciple are here," Bungie explains in its official description. "Find strength in the Light, arm yourself with Darkness, and peer beyond the veil as you raise the stakes on an already unforgettable campaign. Legendary Mode returns."
"Lightfall will change the way Guardians move, explore and fight," revealed the developers during the stream held on August 23. The Guardians will release a new power that will allow them to shape the darkness at will. So much so that they can turn this power into useful tools on stage. For example, you can throw a hook into the air to create an agile and versatile boost point. On the other hand, one of the ultimate abilities allows us to use a sharp rope similar to Scorpion's in Mortal Kombat.
Among the new features that will be highlighted in the new year of support are improvements for entering the Destiny universe. Guardian Ranks, for example, will signal a Guardian's performance in detail. The group finder will also arrive throughout 2023. The results screen in activities will be modified to be able to score companions based on their performance in battle.
