The Rings of Power is just around the corner. The new series of The Lord of the Rings will premiere on Prime Video on September 2 and its creators wanted to share the schedule and format of the same. How many episodes are in The Rings of Power?
The Rings of Power has 8 one-hour episodes. Amazon has stated several times that the series will consist of 5 seasons and about 50 hours, so either the following seasons have more episodes, or there will be chapters somewhat over sixty minutes. This is how JD Payne, one of the showrunners, expressed himself about its length:
"They knew from the beginning that was the size of the canvas – this was a big story with a clear beginning, middle and end. There are things in the first season that don’t pay off until Season 5."
