Assassin's Creed Mirage is a reality, Ubisoft unveils first details
Ubisoft Bordeaux will be the studio in charge of bringing the next Assassin's Creed, which will focus on "stealth, parkour and of course, assassinations".
Assassin's Creed turns 15, and the game that will arrive to be part of this celebration will be the previously announced Assassin's Creed Mirage.
As part of the Ubisoft Forward held on September 10, the French company presented what will be the next installment of the franchise through a trailer. In this one, we have Balim Ibn Ishaq, whom Assassin's Creed fans met in the previous game, Assassin's Creed: Valhalla. The story will set us 20 years before the events of Valhalla, and will narrate how this character went from being a street thief to a master assassin inside Baghdad.
With Assassin's Creed Mirage, the company is looking to "Go back to the roots of the series" according to Sarah Beaulieu, narrative director at Ubisoft Bordeaux. The title will return to the "action adventure game that you know, narrative-driven game", focusing on "stealth, parkour, and, of course, assassinations". The story will feature Basim as the main character, as well as "a lot of historical characters like in every Assassin’s Creed."
Among the characters is Roshan, Basim's mentor, voiced by Emmy Award-winning actress Shohreh Aghdashloo, whom many sci-fi fans may recognize from her role in the television series, The Expanse. Roshan is described as a "true warrior who fights for justice and protects her fellow Hidden Ones at all costs."
A tribute to early AC Games
For now, no further details have been given about the game's story, although key elements about Balim, Baghdad and the historical period in which we will play were presented. It was also highlighted the presence of Alamut, one of the key places and center of operations of the Order which we were introduced to in the first game of the series.
It was also announced that those who pre-order the game will receive a side mission based on the 40 thieves. Also, a collector's edition was shown, which will include among some pieces, a figure of Basim, a map of Baghdad, a steelbox whose design will be chosen by the fans, among other extras.
Assassin's Creed Mirage will be available in 2023 for Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Amazon Luna and PC.
