Microsoft confirms that the Xbox Game Pass version will retain the local multiplayer mode for up to four players, with graphical improvements.

GoldenEye 007's online mode is exclusive to Nintendo Switch and won't be released on Xbox

They were more than rumors. GoldenEye 007 is back on modern systems, but with two different versions. During the Nintendo Direct, the return of the classic James Bond title was announced as part of the Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack service. In parallel, Microsoft did the same with another version for Xbox One, Xbox Series X, Xbox Series X and Xbox Game Pass. Now, Microsoft has solved one of the doubts that were hanging, will it have online mode? The answer is yes, but only on Switch.

"Xbox is excited to bring GoldenEye 007 to Xbox Game Pass for the very first time – a faithful recreation of a much-loved and iconic title," a Microsoft representative told VGC.

"While there are no plans to include online multiplayer as part of GoldenEye 007 on Xbox Game Pass, Xbox is focused on bringing this title to players in the way they fondly remember, including local multiplayer mode, allowing up to four players to take to the couch in a battle of wits and skill."

Free with Rare Replay

GoldenEye 007 has been remastered on Xbox with more control options, such as the possibility of using dual analog sticks. In addition, the native resolution is up to 4K Ultra HD at 16:9, an improved framerate and achievements. Xbox Game Pass subscribers will be able to access it on the same day of launch, which will be "soon", although they have not provided a more precise date. On the other hand, those who have a digital or physical copy of Rare Replay will be able to download it for free when it comes out, at no additional cost.

In this video game based on the movie of the same name, James Bond infiltrates to destroy a satellite that endangers the future of the world. In addition to the well-remembered campaign, a multiplayer mode stood out at the time for the possibility of using traps and trickery to defeat opponents.
