Resident Evil 4 Remake will also be released on PS4, but no Xbox One version will be available

The revamped version of the Capcom classic will add another console after being initially announced only for PS5, Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S and PC.

Update:
Resident Evil 4 Remake will also be released on PS4, but no Xbox One version will be available

Capcom has announced that Resident Evil 4 is also in development for PlayStation 4. During the company's conference at the Tokyo Game Show 2022, producer Yoshiaki Hirabayashi reported its intention to bring the remake to the previous generation of consoles. However, this version will not be marketed on Xbox One. The game was originally announced for PS5, Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, and PC (Steam).

According to Hirabayashi, the development of Resident Evil 4 Remake "is progressing". They have not shared any new trailer, but the producer has advanced that in October there will be a Resident Evil Showcase in which they will offer more details about the return of Leon S. Kennedy. At the moment they have not provided a specific date.

The most recent games of the saga to come to Nintendo Switch

No, Resident Evil 4 Remake has not yet been announced for Nintendo Switch, although Capcom revealed in this week's Nintendo Direct that Resident Evil 2 Remake, 3 and Village will be playable on the hybrid soon... with a catch. None of these versions will be native, but an adaptation via a Cloud Edition. The first to debut will be the eighth main installment, which will hit the market on October 28. The Shadow of Rose expansion will also see the light on Switch and already has a date: December 2.

Resident Evil remakes renew the audiovisual section, but they are not limited to offering the same experience with a better visual aspect. Capcom sees these projects as reinterpretations of the classics, modifying certain aspects of the story, scenarios and even gameplay mechanics.

Resident Evil Village, the most recent installment of the saga, has already sold 6.5 million units worldwide. The Netflix series, on the other hand, has not fared so well. It has been canceled after just one season.
