Splinter Cell remake will adapt its story "for a modern-day audience"

The remake of Splinter Cell will not be limited to reproducing the same exact story in a version with better graphics and revamped gameplay. Through a job listing, Ubisoft has revealed that its storytelling team is working on modernizing the script to appeal to today's new audiences:

"Using the first Splinter Cell game as our foundation we are rewriting and updating the story for a modern-day audience. We want to keep the spirit and themes of the original game while exploring our characters and the world to make them more authentic and believable." The job posting notes that the chosen screenwriter will join Ubisoft Toronto's storytelling team in order to "help create a cohesive and compelling narrative experience for a new audience of Splinter Cell fans."

Splinter Cell remake was officially announced after many rumors. The game will use Massive Entertainment's Snowdrop graphics engine, with which they intend to offer "next-gen graphics and gameplay", dynamic lighting and improved shadows. Ubisoft Toronto is the main studio working on the project, while the previously revealed virtual reality title has finally been canceled.

Ubisoft and Assassin's Creed leaks

Leaks are commonplace in the video game industry, but the culprits are not always discovered. This was not the case for The Real Insider, the person who leaked confidential information about Assassin's Creed that Ubisoft provided to press and influencers during a presentation prior to Ubisoft Forward.

The French company has made it clear that it takes breaches of confidentiality agreements very seriously, and although it has not publicly specified the specific measures it will take against this person, it has guaranteed that they will "act accordingly". Dan Allen apologized when he was unmasked for a social media stumble, but the youtuber has since deleted his Twitter account.
