Silent Hill: The Short Message appears listed in Korea
The possible return of Konami's horror franchise has been rumored for a while and has been leaked several times and this is the most recent one.
New clues point to the return of Silent Hill. Konami has not officially announced it, but the age rating agency in South Korea has registered a new product of the saga in its system. As we can read, it is Silent Hill: The Short Message, a title that will be distributed by UNIANA in this territory (it is the usual distributor of Konami in the country).
Nothing is known about the development studio or the nature of the project, so we will have to wait until Konami pronounces itself in one direction or another. For the moment, the Japanese are keeping it a secret and have not wanted to echo any of the leaks or rumors that have surrounded the brand in recent times.
Agreement between the creators of Layers of Fear and Konami
It is an open secret that Bloober Team is working on Silent Hill. The studio behind Layers of Fear, Blair Witch, or The Medium has signed a collaboration agreement with the Japanese, with which they intend to "combine the special features and strengths" of the studio with those of Konami "to create high quality content".
Another of the rumors that have sounded recently is that Bloober Team is immersed in the development of a remake of Silent Hill 2. Speaking to IGN, CEO Piotr Babieno declined to confirm or deny this information:
"We can’t comment on anything we are doing because we appreciate our relationship with our partners, of course. So we can’t [say] anything. We will make an announcement about our future projects as soon as we can. So then you will know much more," said Babieno.
What is 100% confirmed is that director Christophe Gans, who already adapted Silent Hill to film in 2006, will return to the saga with a new film, scheduled for 2023.
