RTX 4090's first unboxings reveal its massive size, comparable to an Xbox Series S
Nvidia's new powerful graphics card is already in the wild and its size is exaggerated. Prepare your case because it may be difficult to fit it in.
Everything about the new RTX 4090 is huge; from its exaggerated power to its sky-high price. Its disproportionate size may have caught more than one user by surprise, and with the publication of the first unboxings, we realize its true dimensions. For a GPU, they are more than considerable; so much that it rivals in size an entire console, such as the Xbox Series S. This is clear from the first images and videos published by different media that have already had the opportunity to handle it and take it out of its no less imposing product box.
This is the exaggerated size of the new RTX 4090
Several media and content creators have already been able to open different versions of Nvidia's new RTX range, including a custom version from Gigabyte that is even bigger; and when we say "quite" is because it really is. For example, if we pay attention to the video posted by YouTuber Centric, we can see that the new RTX 4090 is quite a bit bigger than the already rather bulky RTX 3070 Ti.
This is the Founder's Edition version, that is, Nvidia's base version measuring 304x137x61 mm, with its exaggerated fan and 4 8-pin PCIe connectors. "I'm testing Nvidia's RTX 4090 and this is the only unboxing photo you need to see. (You can also see where it's shorter than a 3090 but workshop). Review coming soon," wrote The Verge's Tom Warren along with a couple of revealing images, comparing the size of Nvidia's new GPU with a 3090 and a dog.
If the Founder's Edition already seems exaggerated in its dimensions, do not miss the huge design of the Gigabyte Aorus GeForce RTX 4090 Master, Gigabyte's advanced version of Nvidia's new GPU with a much larger size compared to the base model, reaching a not inconsiderable 358.5x162.8x75.1 mm. These measurements will surely make it difficult to install in many PC cases.
The new RTX 4090 hits the market on October 12, 2022, at a suggested retail price of $1,599.
