Minecraft introduces patch 1.20 with new features such as camels and bamboo rafts

During last weekend's Minecraft Live 2022, Mojang shared some more details about the expected update 1.20 of the game, one of the biggest in its recent history. The company unveiled from its estimated release date (spring 2023) to part of its contents, including seven new skins for our initial character (until now and by default we were always the iconic Steve), a new variant of building material (now with bamboo we can take it as a variant of wood) and Hanging signs, among many other things.

For Mojang, however, the star addition is the camels. The developer believes that they will soon become the stars of the game, as they can be ridden by two players at the same time and, unlike horses, for example, they can run over rivers without jumping. They will eat cacti, appear in desert biomes, and will be the fastest animal in Minecraft in the open field. However, forget about carrying anything on them because they will have no inventory.

You can check out all the news in the video below (the segment on Minecraft update 1.20 starts at 1 hour and 24 minutes):

Minecraft Legends, the future of Minecraft

As you may have seen in the video above, the MineCon also made an important space for Minecraft Legends, the new strategy game of the saga. A spin-off that picks up the baton from Story Mode, Earth, and Dungeons is scheduled for 2023 and reminds of sagas like Pikmin or Mount and Blade.

In the game, we will command hordes of creepers, villagers, and other creatures of the Minecraft universe with the intention of defending our village with them. Or if we are more diabolical and Machiavellian, with the intention of opening portals to those of others to go to war with them and conquer them. Developed between Mojang and Blackbird Interactive, it will be the first time we have massive wars and battles in Minecraft.
