PlatinumGames shows support towards Jennifer Hale after the Bayonetta 3 voice over crisis
The studio posted an official statement showing their full support towards the new voice of Bayonetta after Hellena Taylor’s accusations.
PlatinumGames, the studio behind Bayonetta 3, has posted an official statement that shows their full support towards Jennifer Hale, the new voice of Bayonetta in the soon to be released third entry, after the accusations made by the previous voice actress behind the Umbra Witch, Hellena Taylor, who recently posted a thread of videos accusing the creators of the game of an “insulting” payment offer for her job, which caused her exit from the project. Thus, the japanese company opted to defend Jennifer Hale after a wave of insults and harassment fell upon Hale the past few days on social media.
PlatinumGames thanks the work of everyone involved in Bayonetta
“We at PlatinumGames offer our sincerest appreciation to everyone who has contributed to creating the Bayonetta series over the years, as well as the community that has served as its foundation,” says an image posted by the studio on their official Twitter account. “We give our full support to Jennifer Hale as the new Bayonetta, and align with everything in her statement. We ask people to please refrain from any further comments that would disrespect Jennifer or any of the other contributors to the series.”
This message arrives a few days after Jennifer Hale Posted a call for a positive resolution for everyone involved in the situation on her official social media accounts. She also expressed her support towards every voice actor and actress receiving appropriate monetary compensation for their work and involvement in these kinds of projects.
Bayonetta 3 launches exclusively on Nintendo Switch on October 29, 2022. The new adventure of the legendary Umbra Witch is set to be a pretty epic one, with recent trailers having revealed Kaiju on Mech battles, weird magic attacks, tons of improvements and gameplay options (including a “Naive Mode” that slightly tones down the game) and even a new playable protagonist.
