Assassin’s Creed Valhalla ends with a bang: over 20 million players

Ubisoft’s successful game will close Eivor’s story with a final piece of free DLC, to be released this year.

Update:
Assassin’s Creed Valhalla ends with a bang: over 20 million players

Almost two years after its release, Assassin’s Creed Valhalla keeps getting updates and new content. However, Eivor’s journey is about to end, since Ubisoft plans on closing out the character’s story through a free piece of DLC at the end of the year. In the meantime, the developers have celebrated through social media the fact that the game has amassed over 20 million players.

“Over 20 million Vikings have embarked on their epico journey to Valhalla. Standing strong by Eivor’s side,” said the game’s official Twitter account. “From Norway to England. To Mythical Realms of the Gods. Thank you for taking this journey with us. SKAL!”

Eivor’s final chapter

The Last Chapter is Assassin’s Creed Valhalla last bit of story. This free DLC will see Eivor reach his destiny, far from England’s shores. It is presumed that some of the largest mysteries still in the game will be resolved during this DLC. While we still don’t have a confirmation for a release date, it’s expected to launch by the end of the year.

Assassin’s Creed Valhalla is available on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.

The next entry in the series, Assassin’s Creed Mirage, will let us play as Basim, an Assassin we meet towards the endgame in the viking themed title. The game aims to be a more lineal and compact experience, centered in the narrative and with only on city: Baghdad during the IXth century.

It has been confirmed that there will not be any “present day” plot for this game and that the entirety of the story will happen in the past, in order to tell the story of Basim from his origins as a small time thief to his entry and evolution in the Brotherhood, still known by that time as the Order of the Hidden Ones.
