Amsterdam hotel owners complain about realistic map in CoD: Modern Warfare 2

The CoD: Modern Warfare 2 multiplayer map's resemblance to the Conservatorium Hotel in the Dutch city has prompted its manager to speak out.

Amsterdam hotel owners complain about realistic map in CoD: Modern Warfare 2

The accuracy with which the famous Dutch city has been recreated in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 has not left anyone indifferent. It is logical since the comparison between the game and real life shows an impressive work on the part of its developers. However, reaching such a level can lead to problems, as is the case of the owners of the luxurious Conservatorium Hotel, who have shown their discomfort at seeing the unmistakable building hosting the shootings in the title.

"We have taken note of the fact that the Conservatorium Hotel is undesirably the scene of the new Call of Duty," the hotel's manager Roy Tomassen told de Volksrant

It was the hotel's manager, Roy Tomassen, who commented that they “have taken note" after determining that the hotel is "undesirably" a setting in the game. In the brief statement, we can read the following claim: "More generally, we don't support games that seem to encourage the use of violence. The game in no way reflects our core values and we regret our apparent and unwanted involvement."

It's not the first time: what happened with Museum and Marina Bay Grand Prix?

The multiplayer map based on the Marina Bay formula 1 circuit is one of the most popular in the title. We have played several games on it and its design is really spectacular, but it was also in the eye of the storm. It surprised everyone with its announcement, but it was immediately removed from the beta, to later return with certain aesthetic changes, such as the appearance of the F1 cars themselves.

Even more unknown is the Museum map, protagonist during the beta and that disappeared without any warning, since there is no trace of it. Its enormous resemblance to the J. Paul Getty Museum in Los Angeles, California, has given rise to numerous theories about possible claims by its developers. For the moment, there is no confirmation about the return of the map, which players liked very much, since its design offered many possibilities in Domination Mode.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 is now available on PC, PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One. And in a few days (November 16) the long-awaited version 2.0 of Warzone debuts, looking to repeat the feat of the previous installment and become one of the most popular games of the coming years.
