Update:
Monster and The Watcher move forward: Netflix renews two of its most successful series in 2022

Fans of two of the most successful Netflix series of this year are in luck. And the fact is that before the maelstrom of cancellations of a multitude of series that we are living these last times (both on Netflix and other platforms), both Monster and The Watcher will have new seasons to further develop new stories. This is reported by media such as Collider, confirming that Monster has been renewed for two more seasons, while The Watcher will have a new season.

Netflix renews Monster and The Watcher

Ryan Murphy's last two creations will have new seasons to continue developing their respective television universes. In the case of Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story it seemed clear that Netflix would continue betting on its twisted world of serial killers, since it is the third most watched series on the streaming platform so far, only behind Stranger Things season 4 and The Squid Game season 1.

All in all, Monster becomes an anthology that will have to look for new and disturbing stories of characters similar to Dahmer, with "other monstrous figures that have impacted society", as its creators assure. On the other hand, the suspense thriller The Watcher will enjoy one more season to continue adapting a disturbing true story in its own way; in this case, they will probably take even more liberties for its second season.

"Audiences can't take their eyes off Monster and The Watcher. The creative team of Ryan Murphy and Ian Brennan on Monster along with Eric Newman on The Watcher are masterful storytellers who captivated audiences all over the world,” explained Bela Bajaria. Netflix head of Global TV. “The back-to-back force of these two series is due to Ryan’s distinct original voice which created cultural sensations and we are thrilled to continue telling stories in the Monster and Watcher universes.”
