Update:
Remedy announces Control 2, sequel to the award winning action-adventure mystery game

Everyone hoped and assumed it was coming, but now it’s official. Remedy Entertainment has announced a new deal with 505 Games to co-develop and co-publish Control 2, previously know by the code name Heron. We’re talking about a full sequel to the original PS4, Xbox One and PC game, which was also ported to next gen machines. The studio shared the first pieces of concept art through a post in their official blog, and promised that the game will be available on PS5, Xbox Series X|S and other compatible hardware.

Mikael Kasurinen, director of the Control saga, stated that the project is still in the early stages of development. But he also mentioned that it’ll be worth the wait: “With Control, we leaped into the unknown. We wanted to create something new. Something different and unexpected. A world like no other.Thank you, the audience, for making Control such a success for us.”

“With Control 2, we’ll take another leap into the unknown. It’ll be an unexpected journey. It’ll take a while, but to put it mildly, this is the most exciting project I’ve ever worked on. It’s still early days, but it will be worth the wait.” The production, which will cost over $50 million dollars, will be created using Remedy's own graphical engine, Northlight.

Jesse Faden, a step into the unknown

When Jesse Faden comes into the Federal Bureau of Control’s main offices, she does so looking for clues about her lost brother’s whereabouts. But as she starts to delve deeper into the strange building she discovers she’s been named the director of this shady organization. The building is full of monsters, parasitic alien creatures that have taken over the impossible place, dominating the minds of almost every worker in the offices. Using newly acquired telekinetic powers, the new director must defeat all of her enemies and find the truth behind it all.

Control is available in PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. It’s a third person action title that dips into the metroidvania genre of games. Remedy Entertainment’s work, who are also working in a sequel to Alan Wake, was one of the most popular and awarded titles in 2019.
