Splatoon 3 sets a date for Chill Season 2022 with an update-filled trailer

Splatoon 3, Nintendo Switch’s popular ink shooter, is preparing to begin Chill Season 2022, a new in-game event that comes filled with new content for all Nintendo Switch Online subscribers. These include new game modes, exclusive weapons and gear, and a bunch of “fresh” stuff for “sea-soned” habitants of Inkopolis. At least we know the puns won’t stop coming.

You can watch for yourself everything coming in this new event in the official trailer of Chill Season 2022. We do however, have a date for when you’ll be able to enjoy it: December 1, 2022.

Everything coming in Chill Season 2022

Some of the biggest updates we’re getting in Chill Season 2022 of Splatoon 3 is as follows:

  • Big Run is coming! Face off against the salmonid hordes with a twist to the co-op survival action of the Salmon Run game mode. The first Big Run will take place when the Salmonids invade the Wahoo World stage later this year.
  • New weapons and gear to take battles to the next level. Three new weapons (a new Roller, Charger, and Shooter) will be revealed alongside 10 returning weapons from previous Splatoon games.
  • Are you an Anarchy Battle eel-ite? Then you’ll need to check out the new X Battles! This new game mode will require players to reach elite rank and risk X Power to challenge their way up the leaderboards.
  • Two new maps are coming! Brinewater Springs is an entirely new stage coming to the game, but veteran players might remember Flounder Heights from the first title in the series.

Of course, you wouldn’t think that we’d be wearing the same old threads as before for all of this new content, right? The new season also means new fashion, and the store will be filled up with new cosmetic options to choose from. There’s an entirely new collection of gear, custom titles, victory emotes, stickers and more to help you show off your style and stand out from the rest.
