PlayStation Plus subscriptions are 25% off in Black Friday deal

Have you been thinking about getting a PlayStation Plus subscription? Maybe you’ll want to hold off for a few days. Sony has just announced that as part of the PlayStation Black Friday Deals, PS Plus subscriptions will receive a 25% discount on all 3 of its tiers (Essential, Extra and Premium from the 18 to the 28 of November. However, this only applies to the 12 month subscriptions. The results are as follows:

What is the difference between all three PS Plus tiers?

PlayStation Plus was divided into three categories this summer, with all of them being quite different from each other. PS Plus Essential is basically the same service we knew before the update. This one is needed to be able to play online games, but you also get a couple of new games every month, as well as discounts on the PS Store and access to certain benefits for different titles.

The Extra version includes all of that while also giving you access to a library of over 400 games in rotation, and has been called by many “Sony’s answer to Xbox Game Pass”. In great part it’s comprised of what used to be PlayStation Now. The last and most expensive tier is PS Plus Premium: this one includes everything available in the previous tiers, while adding over 400 classic and retro games from past generations. PS1 and PS2 games are available in the service to download and play, while certain PS3 games are available to play through cloud streaming.
