Pokémon Scarlet and Violet: how to evolve Sneasel into Weavile

Pokémon Scarlet and Violet’s Pokédex is, naturally, one of the most important pieces of content for the 9th generation of Pokémon. The first big open world of the franchise has a few complexities in it, and one that’s always present is in how you evolve certain creatures. Such is the case with Sneasel, a Pokémon that originates from the second generation of games. How can you get a Weavile? We’ll tell you in this guide.

How to evolve Sneasel into Weavile

To be able to evolve Sneasel into Weavile you first need to equip the Pokémon with a Razor Claw. This item, which is part of the many items that alter your Pokémon stats when equipped, can be bought in the Delibird store in the southeastern part of Mesagoza. It’ll be unlocked for purchase after acquiring six medals, so you need to progress through the story in order to complete this evolution.

Once you have the item, it’ll be added to your Item Bag. Now you just need to select the Sneasel you wish to evolve and Give him the Razor Claw to hold. You need to wait until night, which is the last requirement for the evolution to happen. Once the moon is out, as you explore the camera will focus on your Sneasel as they achieve the transformation.

You can find Sneasels roaming around at night in the Glaseado Mountain region. This is one of the most common Pokémon in said zone once the sun sets, so it won’t be hard to find. There’s also a slight chance of finding a wild Weavile without having to evolve a Sneasel: these will appear in Area 1 (North), in the edge of the region where the snow meets stone. If you look around for long enough and have some luck, you should be able to catch a Weavile.
