Pokémon Scarlet & Violet gives a hint about its DLC with an item upon completion of the PokéDex
A reward we get from completing Paldea's PokéDex in Pokémon Scarlet & Violet hints at future hypothetical expansions the games could receive.
Pokémon Scarlet & Violet give a hint about their future hypothetical DLC and downloadable content thanks to a very special item we get for completing Paldea's PokéDex.
The clue is a reward for completing Paldea's PokéDex
In Paldea, the region based in Spain that we can travel through in Pokémon Scarlet & Violet, there are a total of 400 different species of Pokémon. As we complete the PokéDex, the game gives us different rewards until we reach 400 captured creatures. Well, it turns out that the last reward is a Beast Ball.
If you're familiar with the franchise, you'll know that these are Poké Balls designed specifically to capture UltraBeasts. These creatures are invading Pokémon from another dimension; we first saw them in Pokémon Sun and Pokémon Moon, and have recently seen them in Pokémon GO in its own event. Therefore, the appearance of a Beast Ball (which is very ineffective against "normal" Pokémon, but tremendously effective at catching Ultra Beasts) indicates that the next major content coming to the game will have to be related to these creatures.
And in case you were wondering, no, the Ente Ball is not the only reward we get in Pokémon Scarlet & Violet for completing the PokéDex. If we talk to Jacq, he will also give us the Shiny Charm, which serves to multiply the chances of running into Shiny Pokémon.
In our Pokémon Scarlet & Violet guide, we help you with different aspects of the game, including how to evolve certain Pokémon with convoluted requirements such as Bisharp to Kingambit.
