Gen-V: The Boys’ spin-off is full of Gore, blood and chaos in its first trailer
The Boys’ new spin-off finally shows off its first footage, and reveals college-age “Supes” with too much talent and power.
After months of waiting, we finally have our first trailer for Gen-V, the long awaited spin-off of dark superhero series The Boys that’s coming to Prime Video in 2023 at an unknown date. Amazon Prime Video shared this first preview of the series, revealing that it’ll be as brutal and violent as it is bloody, maintaining the levels of gore and chaos that the original series has become famous for. Set in a university for young “super” talent, we’re bound to see the perfect storm for teenagers with way too much power discovering their true nature, and how dangerous they can be.
This is Gen-V, not so far off from The Boys
Gen-V takes place in Godolkin University, the only school in the United States created specifically for “young supes” with great potential. Controlled by Vought International (because, of course it has to be), said college tests its students with the most insane physical, moral and sexual challenges that only the strongest might be able to pass (and/or survive) with the promise of taking the highest positions available in the company. And all of this set against the classic black and violent comedy The Boys is known for.
Eric Kripke, creator of The Boys, is acting as producer for Gen-V alongside Sony Pictures Television Studios and Amazon Studios. The series cast includes names like Jaz Sinclair, Chance Perdomo, Lizze Broadway, Shelley Conn, Maddie Phillips, London Thor, Derek Luh, Asa Germann, Patrick Schwarzenegger, Sean Patrick Thomas and Marco Pigossi.
Gen-V will release on Prime Video, Amazon’s streaming service, at some point during 2023. There still haven’t been any announcements made about a specific release date. At the same time, The Boys is currently in the middle of filming main photography for their fourth season, which should be released between 2023 and 2024.
