On Thursday, December 15, 2022, the Winter Holiday Part 1 event begins in Pokémon GO. This Pokémon GO guide gives you all the details, including dates, times, and how to participate.

Winter Holiday Part 1 event in Pokémon GO: dates, times, and how to participate

The Pokémon GO Winter Holiday Part 1 event begins Thursday, December 15, 2022, at 10:00 a.m. to Friday, December 23, 2022, at 10:00 a.m. local time. It is a free event for all players, although there is a paid entry for Timed Research. The Winter Holiday Part 1 event is part of Season 9: Mythical Wishes. One of the main new features is the debut of Mega Glalie as a new Mega Evolution.

For $5 (or the equivalent in our local currency), we will be able to unlock the Timed Research exclusive to the event, which we can receive between Thursday, December 15, 2022, at 10:00 a.m. to Friday, December 23, 2022, at 10:00 a.m. local time. Once received, we will need to complete it by December 31, 2022, at 8:00 p.m. local time.

Among the Special Research rewards, we will be able to obtain the following:

  • Two Incubators
  • One Incense
  • Abomasnow Mega Energy
  • Various event-themed Pokémon encounters

  • Cobalion will learn Sacred Sword, a 60 Power Fighting Type attack in Trainer Battles and 55 Power in Gyms and raids.
