SIFU announces its Xbox and Steam release with new modes, moves and extras
Already one of the biggest surprises of the year, the beat 'em up game will receive a free update packed with content when it arrives on Xbox and Steam.
It has been one of the biggest surprises of the year and those users who do not have PS5, Nintendo Switch, or Epic Games account will soon find out why. Sifu has just announced that it will arrive on Steam and Xbox Series X|S in March 2023. It has done so through a trailer in which it recaps its goodness and confirms a free update for all versions of the game that includes a new mode called Arenas where we are challenged to overcome infinite and increasingly complicated hordes of enemies.
Sloclap, the studio behind this game, explains that "successfully completing the arenas will progressively unlock a massive new modifiers batch". This mode "doubles the current game's amount and notably brings alternative moves to the Kung Fu palette of our main character". It adds "new cheats and exclusive new outfits". Take a look.
A must-have beat 'em up
From our colleagues in Spain, Sifu was fully praised, receiving a 9 in its review, being mentioned as "a pleasant and challenging surprise that demands a lot from the player at first, but that is grateful to him in the long run.”
"The combat system is extremely polished, but the most important thing is how the player has the ability to learn and improve: to know how to dodge, when to block, when to counterattack. Learning from each enemy, from the most basic to the boss, is the master key of a title that has an intelligent death system in which we can resurrect to advance, but only by optimizing our previous steps, we can finish the story on time. The progression system, the links between levels (to which we will have to return more than once), and the use of the perks and unlocking of skills is carefully designed and a success".
